Fees & Pricing

Transparent pricing — no hidden charges

Treatment protocols at TMS Cheltenham are tailored to each individual's clinical needs — the number of sessions, frequency, and stimulation parameters are all determined following your psychiatric assessment. The pricing below reflects a typical course for depression. Your consultant will discuss your personalised plan and associated costs before any treatment begins.

The following is an example treatment course for depression. A standard protocol involves 30 sessions delivered over 4–6 weeks, structured in two blocks of 15 to allow progress to be reviewed at the midpoint before committing to the full course.

Initial Psychiatric Assessment

A comprehensive one-to-one consultation with your consultant psychiatrist. Includes clinical history, review of previous treatments, suitability assessment for rTMS, and a personalised treatment plan.

£400 One-off fee
Assessment fee credited on booking. If you proceed to a course of rTMS, the £400 assessment fee is credited in full against the cost of your treatment — so you pay nothing extra for the initial consultation.

Intensive Protocol

Accelerated treatment — full course in one week

For patients who prefer a condensed timeline, our intensive protocol delivers the full therapeutic course across five consecutive days rather than the standard 4–6 week programme. This approach is ideal for those travelling to Cheltenham for treatment, those with demanding schedules, or anyone who simply wants to begin feeling the benefits sooner.

The following is an intensive treatment course for depression. The accelerated protocol involves 35 sessions delivered across 5 consecutive days (7 sessions per day), with appropriate intervals between each session to ensure safety and tolerability.

Initial Psychiatric Assessment

As with all treatment pathways, an initial consultation with your consultant psychiatrist is required before beginning treatment. Your consultant will support you in understanding which protocol will be the best fit for you.

Top-Up & Maintenance

Ongoing support — when you need it

Some patients find that periodic top-up sessions help sustain the benefits gained from their initial course of rTMS. Others may benefit from a longer-term maintenance programme with sessions scheduled at regular intervals. The need for additional treatment varies from person to person — your consultant will review your progress and discuss whether top-up or maintenance sessions are appropriate for you, and if so, recommend a schedule tailored to your individual response.

Top-up and maintenance protocols vary between patients. The frequency, duration, and number of sessions will depend on your clinical response to the initial course, your ongoing symptoms, and your consultant's recommendation. There is no fixed protocol — every plan is individually determined.
